Health Visiting Team

The health visiting team work mainly with babies, young children and their families, promoting health and well-being. They provide home visits for very young babies, and offer advice and support at clinics thereafter.

They can offer help and advice with:

  • Breast feeding
  • Nutrition & weaning
  • Toilet training/bedwetting/soiling
  • Childhood behaviour
  • Family stresses
  • Post-natal depression
  • Home accident prevention
  • Skin care
  • Sleep

They also manage child immunisations and can refer children for speech therapy, hearing and eye problems. We can also recommend local support groups and voluntary organisations.
