The Practice has undertaken a review of our appointment system, which has involved incorporating the view of patients. We are implementing the following minor changes from Monday 30th June in an attempt to improve our effectiveness in meeting the needs of our patient population.
Morning Booked Surgeries:
The 10.00am Open Surgery will be replaced by appointments with a named GP.
The current 11.15am Open Surgery, which is bookable on-the-day from 8am, will remain as is. This surgery provides 3 appointments per doctor on a ‘first come first served’ basis for acute / urgent symptoms which arise on the day and are with any GP. These appointments cannot be nominated to a specific GP.
There will be additional On-the-Day Appointments available each afternoon, which will be a bookable appointment with a named doctor of those present on that day.
The Duty Doctor will speak to patients who feel they need to be seen as a medical emergency and arrange any appropriate consultations.
It is intended that the above changes will result in an improved and more efficient service to our patients. We will of course continue to monitor the service and welcome comments in the meantime.
